A Visit to a Botanical Garden

Just off the confines of the Belvedere we found a botanical garden that was open to the public. There were so many plants native to areas all over the world--bamboo, sequoia trees, tiny alpine flowers, etc. I tried to take pictures of as many flowers as I could.

These are just a few branches of a huge tree full of yellow flowers.Furry flowers

These were like hollowed-out sticks used to house bees. Neat!

This is a sequoia tree--it was pretty big, although obviously not as big as some of the really old ones in California.
Bamboo
A fun, purple puff-flower!

Forsythia--forsythia is really big here, it grows everywhere.
Can you spot the ladybug??

Hi Allison,

The pictures of the flowers are so lovely, especially as I long for spring. One of the ones I particularly enjoyed were the ones that look a little like cactus in the terricata looking containers mounted on the wall. They remind me of the ones my grandmother used to keep on her porch.
